After being on our team for over three years, God has put a new, yet similar, calling on Rob DeWitt’s life. Rob has been our Care and Membership Director his entire time at The Bridge and he has ministered to a countless number of people and families.
For the last couple months Rob and his wife, Carol, have been praying and processing whether or not the Lord was leading him to start a full time biblical counseling ministry. Through this prayer and many conversations, Rob let us know that while it was a very difficult decision, because how much he has loved being on our team, he felt with certainty that God was leading him into this direction.
A few personal words from me (Matt Svoboda): on a personal level this was really hard to process with Rob. I was the one that had the pleasure of initially approaching and bringing Rob onto our team. I love the man dearly and he has been an amazing part of our team throughout these last several years. At the same time, I am incredibly excited for him. When Rob lights up is when he is talking about and doing biblical counseling. It is simply what he was made for and I am so glad he is taking the opportunity to pursue it full time. While there is some sadness, this is a call for celebration. It is always incredible when we clearly see God’s calling on our life and have the faith and courage to pursue. I am proud of you, Rob, and I love you.
What this means exactly:
- Rob will be on staff until the end of May while he gets his new ministry launched and off the ground! We will only have him in the office until the end of this month so he can fully pursue his new calling.
- Rob and Carol love The Bridge and will still be incredibly active and present just like when they were members before he came on staff.
- As a church, we will be partnering with Rob in significant ways. He will be our primary referral when our families have counseling needs.
- We will be giving Rob some space in our Spring Hill building to use for counseling a couple days a week.
If you all have any questions feel free to email me (Matt Svoboda) at [email protected].
Final note: be sure to thank, hug, and celebrate Rob the next time you see him!
