As The Bridge has continued to grow so has our desire to add more qualified elders to our elder body. An elder is a man who is a member within the church appointed and set apart by The Bridge Church to shepherd, care for and equip members, leaders, and staff of the church. They guard the church through prayer, policies, and making sure healthy practices are utilized in the church. Elders are appointed to serve and approved by the church body.
After walking through a thorough process with several candidates over the last year we are excited to introduce four elder candidates for approval and appointment by the church body. If you have had experiences with these men that you would like to share with our elders please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. These experiences can be positive in how they have encouraged you in the faith or negative in that you have questions about them being appointed to eldership. It is important to us that our elders have deep unity in our church and if there are any instances in which reconciliation is needed we will work to make sure that happens. We also say that we don’t make elders, we find men who are already eldering and simply recognize them. These men have shown this over their years at our church and we would love to hear stories from you about the impact they have had on your life.
Without further ado, meet our four elder candidates:
Craig and his wife, Cathy, have been at The Bridge for three years. They have been married for 33 years and have three adult kids: Beth, Craig Jr., and Sam. They have two grandkids, Hudson (5) and Hadley (4). Craig and Cathy lead a Young Marrieds Group together and enjoy investing in younger couples. They also serve as Greeters at our Columbia Campus. He works at Lifeway Christian Resources as the Director of Global Ministry. Of special note: there are four generations of Featherstones who worship at The Bridge, anchored by Craig’s 88 year old father, Captain Robert J. Featherstone.
Kevin and his family have been at the Bridge for over 3 years. He and Sarah have been married for 14 years. They have one son, Eli (6). They are also foster parents so their total family size can vary on any given day. They currently have two unrelated 16 month old kids. Kevin works for UBS Financial as an Analyst in the Telecom Carrier Management department.
Over the last several years, he has served in a number of areas in the church. He currently serves as a Bridge Groups Coach, a member of the worship team, and on our Membership team.
Kris has been married to Vanessa, his High School sweetheart for 18 years. They have 3 kids: Konnor (15), Emma (13), and Brady (9). Kris has been in vocational ministry leadership in various capacities for 18 years. He currently serves as Groups Director here at The Bridge at our Spring Hill Campus. The Dolberrys have been at The Bridge since 2015.
Craig and his family have been at The Bridge for over seven years. He has served as a Pastor throughout his time at our church and has led in a variety of ways. For the last several years he has served as our Executive Pastor of Operations. He has been married to Lindsey for 11 years and they have three childrenL Greyson (10), Selah (7), and Crew (5).
