As The Bridge has continued to grow so has our desire to add more qualified elders to our elder body. An elder is a man who is a member within the church appointed and set apart by The Bridge Church to shepherd, care for and equip members, leaders, and staff of the church. They guard the church through prayer, policies, and making sure healthy practices are utilized in the church. Elders are appointed to serve and approved by the church body.
After walking through a thorough process, we are excited to introduce Eric Humes as an elder candidate for approval and appointment by the church body. If you have had experiences with this man that you would like to share with our elders please let us know at [email protected]. These experiences can be positive in how he has encouraged you in the faith or negative in that you have questions about him being appointed to eldership. It is important to us that our elders have deep unity in our church and if there are any instances in which reconciliation is needed we will work to make sure that happens. We also say that we don’t make elders, we find men who are already eldering and simply recognize them. This man has shown this over the years at our church and we would love to hear stories from you about the impact he’s had on your life.
Without further ado, meet our elder candidate:
Eric and his family have been at The Bridge for over 4 years. He and Sarah have been married for 6 years and have a precious baby boy, Elliot (21 months). Over the last few years Eric and Sarah have served in a number of areas in the church. Currently, they lead a small group together and are on our prayer team. When Eric isn’t serving, he works as a Project Manager at MARS Petcare.
